MALOUT (MUKTSAR), April 1:  Around 21 accused persons involved in the assault case of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Abohar Arun Narang arrested by Muktsar Police here on Thursday. MLA Narang, who was in Malout in connection with the press conference on March 27, was gheraoed and assaulted by the agitating farmers.Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muktsar D Sudarvizhi said that Sukhdev Singh from village Bura Gujjar, District President Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU Sidhupur), Nirmal Singh from village Jasseana, General Secretary and Nanak Singh from village Fakarsar, treasurer, are among the 21 persons who have arrested by the police. Others have been identified as Baljeet Singh of village Bodhiwala Khadak Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Baldev Singh, Lakhvir Singh, Balvir Singh, Guradita Singh, Sadhu Singh and Jaskaran Singh all from village Harike Kalan, Mandeep Singh @Rinku from Mehna, Avtar Singh from Mithri budhgir, Darshan Singh, Manjinder Singh and Sarjinder Singh all from Village Warring, Balwant Singh alias Kala, Dharam Singh, Resham Singh and Gurwinder Singh all from Vill Raniwala and Jaskaran Singh from vill Gulabewala.
The SSP said that the police have arrested all the accused persons and further investigations are on.The Muktsar Police had a registered a criminal case under sections 307, 353, 186, 188, 332, 323, 342, 506, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Police Station City Malout.Meanwhile, the Police party, including SP Hqrs Sri Muktsar Sahib, DSP Malout, 2 SHOs, Quick Reaction Team, who were trying to protect the BJP MLA and evacuate him was also attacked by the mob of protestors and SP Gurmail Singh, Constable Ranjit Singh and Constable Harmanpreet Singh had suffered injuries.
